Essene Passion Week

The Prophecy Of Jesus Confirmed

Jesus gave a prophecy about his burial in Matthew 12:40, when He stated, “For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth”. Jesus was a prophet and He always spoke the truth. In John 14:6, Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life”. For centuries, people have taught the Jesus was crucified on Good Friday, but that does not provide the correct timeline of three days and three nights in the grave. However, if you use the Essene calendar, the discrepancy is resolved and Jesus’ prophecy was true!

The Essene calendar was discovered in the Dead Sea Scrolls and is sometimes called the Dead Sea Scroll calendar. It is different than the traditional Jewish calendar used today, which is basically the same calendar the Pharisees used during the time of Jesus. That calendar was brought back to Israel from Babylon, after the Babylonian captivity hundreds of years before Jesus was born.  On the Essene calendar, the Jewish feasts always occur on the same day of the week. For example, on the Essene calendar, Passover (Pesach) always begins at sundown on a Tuesday. On the traditional Jewish calendar, Passover begins on a different day each year. On the calendar used by the Pharisees, during the year that Jesus was crucified, Passover began on Wednesday night.

Most pastors will tell you that Jesus was crucified around 3 PM, just as the Passover lamb was being slaughtered at the Jewish Temple, in preparation for the Passover meal, later that night (according to the Pharisee calendar). But, Jesus and his disciples observed Passover at the Last Supper, the night before. So, how could Jesus be crucified just before Passover began, but observe Passover the night before? What many people have thought was a contradiction in scripture, can now be explained. There  were two calendars with different dates for Passover! In the image below, the days of the Passion Week are explained, according to the Essene calendar.
